A comical, yet sincere look at a modern-day family adjusting to life as newly single parents.
Dan Ford thought he had the perfect life. A twenty-year marriage to the woman of his dreams, two beautiful kids, a great job at a local bank and a comfortable, modest home in the suburbs of LA. In one day, that perfect life was turned upside down when his wife asked for a life apart and he was forced to move into an apartment with his recent Ivy League graduate son. For Dan, it was the worst thing to ever happen to him, but he’ll soon find out that sometimes the worst things for you can actually turn out to be the best.
Dan gets to start his life over again. His new living arrangement helps him bond with his son in a way he was never able to before; he begins dating a new, younger woman who loves him for who he is, not what he should be, and he takes a long hard look at himself and his life and uncovers some goals and ambitions that he might not have found and followed through on had he stayed married. Meanwhile, Dan’s ex-wife continues to search for that better life she left him for while having to standby and watch his life flourish. This is a show about divorce and how different people cope and deal with it. The circumstances surrounding divorce in today’s world are much different than those even ten years back. Older women are dating younger men and vice versa. As Dan begins dating his younger girlfriend, he learns that his son, JP, has been dating an older woman. JP can help Dan relate to his younger girlfriend and Dan can certainly help JP relate to his older woman.
